Aleph Residences, el nuevo proyecto de vivienda de Norman Foster en Argentina
(que no había crisis por ahí?)
Aleph Residences, por Faena Group
Phase one of The Aleph in Buenos Aires – a new luxury residential development containing 57 apartments over nine floors – has been launched today. The Aleph is the latest addition to Alan Faena’s portfolio of luxury residences in the city and is due to complete in 2010.
Taking inspiration from Buenos Aires’ traditional ‘casa chorizo’ houses and the architectural vernacular of courtyards and open terraces, a number of the apartments feature double-height balconies. The residences are designed to take advantage of the city’s pleasant climate by blurring the boundaries between inside and outside space – reinventing the traditional courtyards within each apartment in the form of an ‘external room’. Each dual-aspect apartment is enclosed by glazed panels and bronzed aluminium sun screens, balancing the need for solar shading with daylight and cooling breezes. In the apartments, exposed vaulted ceilings have been incorporated to enhance the sense of space and height.
As part of a wider masterplan for the Puerto Madero district, phase one of The Aleph will be completed with two further residential blocks. Continuing the courtyard theme, these will be arranged around two central gardens in a T-shaped formation, enlivened by a fringe of shops at the base.
